Theodore "Ted" Kunko

<p>Theodore &ldquo;Ted&rdquo; Kunko, 89, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Lilly passed away at the Village.&nbsp;</p> <p>He was born in Portage Township, son of Joseph and Mary Ann (Kurush) Kunko.&nbsp;</p> <p>Preceded in death by parents; loving wife Jane Kunko,(whom he married July 2, 1955); Brother Adam Kunko; sisters Agnes Skomra and Roseann Barnas and an infant sister.&nbsp;</p> <p>Survived six children: Deborah and husband Edward Matosziuk of Hollidaysburg; Pam Berger of Austin, Texas; Ted and wife Cindy of Parkesburg; &nbsp;Rebecca and husband Rod Edmiston of Duncansville, Mike and wife Amy of Lilly; and Angela Spaid of Lilly; nine grandchildren: Melisa, Jason, and Jordan Plunkett, Chelsea Rice, Jeremy and Sarah Kunko, Miles Berger, Kaitlyn Edmiston and Alex Eberhart; Eleven great-grandchildren: Jaden Baker and Landon Shellenberger, Gabriel and Emme Plunkett, Gracie Plunkett, Kaedyn, Madelyn, Elizabelle, Bentley and Lillian Rice, Cameron Petak;four stepgrandchildren: Eddie, Mike, Steven and Lauren Matosziuk; four Stepgreat-grandchildren:&nbsp; Connor, Jake, &nbsp;Riley and Lily Matosziuk; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Russell (Chris) Burda, Walter (Noni) Shuty, Bill Hutchinson and Dave Zella.&nbsp;</p> <p>Ted was a graduate of Portage Area High School.&nbsp; He retired from Metropolitan Life.&nbsp;</p> <p>He loved fishing, hunting, pinochle and was an avid reader.&nbsp; He was a member of Our Lady of the Alleghenies where he served as Church Finance Council and Eucharistic Minister. He also was a member of the NRA and &nbsp;Jamestown Rod and Gun Club.</p> <p>A Funeral Mass will be held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 2:00pm.&nbsp; There will be no viewing due to Covid.&nbsp;</p> <p>Arrangements are by The Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.&nbsp; Memorial contributions may be made to Blair Type 1 Diabetes Foundation, 1330 11th Avenue, Altoona, PA 16601.</p>

Theodore “Ted” Kunko, 89, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of Lilly passed away at the Village. 

He was born in Portage Township, son of Joseph and Mary Ann (Kurush) Kunko.
