Edgar “Barney” Joyner, Jr.

<p>Mr. Edgar &ldquo;Barney&rdquo; Joyner, Jr. was born October 24, 1938 in Memphis, TN.&nbsp;&nbsp;He transitioned September 16, 2020 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.</p> <p>He was a Farmer and a Veteran&nbsp;&nbsp;of the National Guard.</p> <p>He is survived by two sons: Billy Joyner of Lamar, MS and Timothy Joyner (Lisa) of Somerville, TN, two daughters: Violet Haulum (Paul) of&nbsp;Memphis, TN&nbsp;and Shantell Lacey, three brothers: Jack Joyner, Andrew Joyner&nbsp;&nbsp;and Donald Joyner, five sisters: Frances Harris, Mary Duke, Barbara Fowler, Patricia Hurdle, and Carolyn Edwards, twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins,&nbsp;&nbsp;other relatives, and friends.&nbsp;</p> <p>He is preceded in death by his parents: Edgar Joyner, Sr., and Lena Morse, three brothers.</p> <p>Service will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 2p.m., with visitation from 1p.m., until 1:50p.m. at Serenity-Autry Funeral Home Chapel in Holly Springs. Burial will follow at Slayden Cemetery in Lamar, MS. Serenity-Autry Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.</p>

Mr. Edgar “Barney” Joyner, Jr. was born October 24, 1938 in Memphis, TN.  He transitioned September 16, 2020 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

He was a Farmer and a Veteran  of the National Guard.
