Alesia Shamlee Long Obituary

Live-streaming Link—www.Facebook.com/dk.Walton.37. On September 19, 2020, the Lord called home one of his angel warriors. She was a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to whom many looked up to for guidance. Alesia made her grand entrance into the world on July 28, 1962 to Jacqueline Shamlee and the late James E. Shamlee in Portsmouth, VA. She grew up in Cavalier Manor on Clay Street and graduated from the mighty I. C. Norcom High School in 1980. She attended and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) in Richmond, VA. Alesia was also employed at Geico for 22 years in Virginia Beach, VA. If you knew Alesia, her smile always lit up the room. Her favorite hobby was cooking those good old Sunday dinners or holiday meals that we all came home to. She loved her family dearly and was always the life of the party. Her son Malik was her life, her heart, her world if you knew Alesia. She loved to travel and belonged to a local group called Milady. Alesia also attended St. Mark Missionary Church in Portsmouth, VA but never became a member. She always attended morning services on Sunday. Alesia leaves to cherish her memory to her Husband: Michael Long of Portsmouth, VA; Son: Malik Long of Portsmouth, VA, Mother: Jacqueline Shamlee of Portsmouth; VA, Sister: Shanita Shamlee-Hagan (Terrance) of Charlotte, NC; Brothers: James E. Shamlee, Jr. (Toni) of Tuscaloosa, AL; Karl Shamlee (Sherry) of Seattle, WA; Aunt: Lula Dove “Dena” of Woodbridge, VA; Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins and friends. She will truly be missed but her spirit will continue to live on through us.
