Wanda Halsey Morgan, 95.5, went to be with her Lord on Thursday September 17, 2020.

Born March 8, 1925 in Pineville WV, she was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah Farley Halsey. A lifelong resident of Pineville, Wanda was a 1944 graduate of Pineville High School and a 1948 graduate of Concord College. She taught Social Studies and English classes at Baileysville High School for thirty-eight years until her retirement in 1986. Her passion throughout life was the education of others. Wanda was a member of the Church of Christ.

Wanda was a dear and caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her generosity, she was a supporter of WV PBS and Seneca Health Services. She was a hard worker, a great cook and inherited a green thumb and love of gardening from her mother. Wanda raised beautiful flowers and delicious vegetables that she shared with her neighbors. She loved to read and was a gifted writer as well as published author.

 In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty nine years, Gray Morgan, her four brothers, Earl and his wife Vertle, Carson and his wife, Edna, Cash and his wife, Cora and Harry and his wife, Marie; two infant brothers, Billy and Hersey; three sisters, Ella Mae Miller and her husband Al, Carrie Halsey and Pansy Halsey; nephew, Darrell Miller. Wanda was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Debbie Dean and her husband, Roger; a son, David; one grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth Dean. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Agnes Lively, Wade Halsey, Teresa Grygiel, Don Miller, Fred Halsey, Barbara Hager, Sandra Akers, Juanita Dooley, Anice Hatfield and William Halsey, Also considered as her survivors are the thirty-eight years of students she taught at Baileysville High School, former co-workers and friends. 

Pallbearers will be Mike Muscari, Jeff Halsey, Don Miller, Duane Farley, Scott Cook and Mike Stewart.
