Vancor, Sr., age 76 a resident of Pelahatchie passed away on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Select Specialty in Jackson. Visitation will be held 5pm-8pm, Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton. Services will be held 11am Monday, September 21, 2020 from the Ott & Lee Chapel in Morton with burial in Leesburg Church of Christ Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Morton.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Mr. Vancor was born in Watertown, NY on April 21, 1944. He enjoyed being outdoors. He loved swimming, biking and running. Jerry was a great bowler and loved going every chance he had. He had a heart of gold and enjoyed helping people anyway he could. Jerry loved his animals, especially his dog, Coco. Mr. Vancor was a Volunteer Fireman with the Pelahatchie Fire Dept. for many years. Jerry was proud to have served as a U.S. Navy Frogman and also served in the Army. His family said, " He was proud to serve his country." He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">He is preceded in death by his parents, William Vancor and Bernice Reape Vancor and son, Jerry Will Vancor, Jr.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Vancor of Pelahatchie; children, William Vancor (Jennifer) of Brandon, Mike Vancor (April) of Pelahatchie, Tabitha Lawrence (Bill) of Leesburg and Dillon Vancor (Alicia) of Leesburg; brother, Leonard Vancor of New York; grandchildren, Taylor, Anna Jane, Aly, Austin, Ava, Jonathon and Hannah and a host of friends.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;"> </p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Pallbearers will be William Vancor, Mike Vancor, Dillon Vancor, Austin Vancor, Bill Lawrence, Jonathan Lawrence, J.D. Watson, Rick Kelly and Allen Patterson.
