Obituary

Rodolfo M. Tejeda, age 55, of Haverhill, MA, and former longtime Lawrence, MA resident, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, surrounded by his loving family at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. He was the husband of Agustina M. Almonte, with whom he shared twenty-eight wonderful years in marriage.

The son of the late Manuel and Celeste Aurora (Mejia) Tejeda, Rodolfo was born and raised in the Dominican Republic where he graduated from high school. He later attended College and received an Associate’s Degree in information technology following his immigration to the United States in 1997.

Rodolfo first met Agustina back home in the Dominican Republic and they were married in 1991. After arranging for his wife and children to relocate to Lawrence, Rodolfo needed to stay back home for a time, until he was finally reunited with his family in 1997, something that brought him so much joy.
A true family man, nothing was more important to him than his wife and children. This was displayed daily as he was always eager to return home to be with his beloved Agustina and his children.

To say that he was a kind person with a good and gentle soul pales to describe who Rodolfo was as a person. He was a great role model who devoted himself to the happiness and success of his family, always putting their needs first. A truly social person with an infectious smile, anyone near him could feel his sense of calmness and caring by his soft unassuming manner. His passion for music was no surprise to his many friends as they gathered and enjoyed his favorite music, the merengue, salsa, and batchata. The joy of this music was only possible as it was a time that brought him together not only with his family, but also his friends.

In addition to his wife, Agustina, Rodolfo is survived by his children, Lisette Tejeda, Rodolfo Tejeda, and Manuel Tejeda, all of Haverhill; grandson, Adrian Tejeda; siblings, Aida Tejeda, Manuel Tejeda, Marta Tejeda, Marina Tejeda; and many nieces and nephews.

Rodolfo’s family would like to thank all of the staff at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill for all of their compassionate care and friendships.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with Rodolfo’s family between 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2020, at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street in Methuen.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Rodolfo’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
