<p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Rose Rocan</strong><br /> (n&eacute;e Bernard)</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Peacefully at the St. Claude Pavilion on Thursday, September 17, 2020, Mrs. Rose Rocan of St. Claude, MB passed away at the age of 96 years.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carole Rocan (Ken), Odile (Denis) Chappellaz, and son-in-law Denis Magne (Nancy); her grandchildren, Claudia, Greg (Anne), Stephane (Sarah), Joanne (Aaron), G&eacute;rald (Rachel), Nadine (Mike), Ryan (Amanda) and Paul; her great-grandchildren, J&eacute;r&eacute;mie, Christian, L&eacute;a, Isabelle, Sienna Rose, Stella and Michelle. She also leaves to mourn her in-laws, Ir&egrave;ne Bernard, Elmer Cummer and Joseph Nemeth, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">She is predeceased by her husband Ghislain; her children, Gilbert Rocan and Claudette Magne and her siblings, Albert (Lucie) Bernard, &Eacute;mile Bernard, Arthur Bernard, Cecile (Albert) Le Devehat, Simone Cummer and Helen Nemeth; her in-laws, Claire (Roland) Lafreni&egrave;re, Lionel Rocan, Yves (Th&eacute;r&egrave;se) Rocan, Guy (Henriette) Rocan, Maurille (Florence) Rocan, Joseph (Th&eacute;r&egrave;se) Rocan, Gilles Rocan, Germaine (Paul) Baccaert, Fabiola (Lionel) Brisson, Carmelle (C&eacute;lestin) Labossi&egrave;re and Colette Goerwell.</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">Our Mom, Rose Bernard was born on March 31, 1924.&nbsp; She attended school in St. Claude, Haywood and &Eacute;cole Louvain. She completed her Grade 9 by correspondence with the help of teacher G&eacute;raldine Bonnefoy.&nbsp; She worked very hard on the family farm for many years.&nbsp; In 1944, she met Ghislain Rocan who was working at the hotel in St. Claude.&nbsp; They were married on May 4, 1946.&nbsp; Rose and Ghislain started a business: Rocan Electric.&nbsp; They ran this business for 30 years.&nbsp; Mom was very involved in the community, helping out at the arena and curling rink.&nbsp; In 1978, Mom and Dad moved to Winnipeg and then in 1981 they moved to Vancouver, where they lived for 14 years.&nbsp; They loved visiting their 8 grandchildren in Winnipeg, Thunder Bay and Vancouver.&nbsp; In 1996, they moved back to Winnipeg.&nbsp; Dad passed away in 1999.&nbsp; Mom lived in Winnipeg until 2015.&nbsp; She lived her last 5 years at the St. Claude Pavilion where she got wonderful care until her passing.&nbsp; &nbsp;Repose en paix ch&egrave;re Maman.&nbsp;</p> <p style="text-align: justify;">A Private Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the St. Claude Catholic Church. Memorial Service at 1:30 p.m. followed by Mass at 2 p.m. with Fr. Peter Le Van Ngu officiating.
