Fred Walter Klein
Fred Walter Klein, 56, formerly of Mt. Prospect, passed away peacefully September 16, 2020. Beloved son of the late Martin Klein and Katherine Heinrich Klein; dear brother of Frank (Margarita) Klein and Wolfgang (Tina) Klein; adored uncle of Martin, Luis, Joyce. and Peter Klein; great-uncle of Lukas, Emilia, Matias Castro. Godfather of nephews Martin and Peter. Fred’s interests included astronomy, birding, prairie restoration, and the Indiana Dunes. He could point out where to find various nebulae and-so-on in the night sky at different times of the year. He played soccer for Prospect High School and Green White Soccer Club. He was a fan of the Chicago Cubs but wished the White Sox well. He was also of fan of the Bayern Munich and German National soccer teams. Fred belonged to the Wildlife Conservancy and had a fascination with the passenger pigeon. Fred loved cats and cared for feral felines in Mt Prospect, eventually adopting three. Services are private.
