Al-Rasid Sadiq (Gene Smith) laid down his sword and shield and went on to his heavenly home on September 30th 2019 in a hospital in Dallas, TX. Gene Smith was born in Atlanta, GA on July 14th 1956 to the late John T. Smith Sr. and Adginorlia Smith. The family moved to New Jersey when he was only two years old. He was baptized at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Passaic, NJ. He attended the Passaic school system. After serving in the National Guards, he worked independently, expertly detailing and doing auto body work for several companies in NJ. He also worked occasionally with his late brother, Michael Smith who also did excellent auto body reconstruction. He was a kind and caring person who made you feel loved in his presence. He is and will be missed by all. Al-Rashid (Gene Smith) is survived be his beloved wife, Mona Sadiq Paterson NJ, daughters, Natash Jones Greenbelt MD, Kenya Popatia Carrollton TX sons Juakeem Ross Jacquay Ross Arlington, TX Sisters, Jacqueline Taylor Richmond, VA, Patricia Stephens Brodie Hackensack, NJ Brother, John T. Smith Jr. Paterson NJ Seven grandchildren, great grandchildren and a host of son-laws, brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews. Memorial Service held on October 3rd at 1:00 pm at The Madonna Multinational Home for Funerals.
