Leonard Eugene "Lee" Perry was born in Florence County, June 5th,1937 to the late Oliver and Mamie Lee Perry, Sr. He departed this earthly life on Friday, September 18, 2020, at McLeod Regional Medical Center after battling years of illness. Lee, as he was affectionately called attended the public schools of Florence. He began his career as a "freelancer" by laying carpet. Later in his life, Lee retired from the Florence Morning News. Lee loved to dance and swing. His passion for dancing earned him many awards. Mr. Leonard's legacy of love and zeal for life will live in the heats of remaining younger siblings Jacqueline (Amos) Wells of Anderson, SC, Velice Perry Alexander of Florence, SC, Oliver (Lavender) Perry, Jr., of Darlington, SC, Bryan K. Perry of Florence, SC and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and neighbors.
