It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Obed Sanchez, on Friday, September 11th, 2020, after a severe heart attack, at the age of 52. Beloved husband of devoted wife Hillary. Loving father of Eric and Savannah. Proud grandfather to Bella and Maila. He is survived by his mother Aurora, mother-in-law Mamie, and siblings Armando, Elizabeth, Amador, Danny, Aurora, and Judy. He is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends. Obed was born in Ojinaga, Mexico, on July 15th, 1968, to parents Amador Sanchez (deceased 1990) and Aurora Leija. The family moved to the San Fernando Valley, where Obed enjoyed his early years, and attended San Fernando High School. Shortly after, Obed began working at Image IV where he quickly moved up the ranks to warehouse manager. Obed worked there for 17 years and this is where he met his wife Hillary Grant, and soon after moved to Pasadena. He then joined the City of Pasadena and established his career as an Electrical Mechanic. In the Power Division for the past 18 years, he mentored and helped pass down his trade to a long line of colleagues, who became his extended family. He was an avid golfer, fisher and grill master. He enjoyed hosting gatherings, where he passionately welcomed all those who came as if they were his own. Obed will be remembered for his mischievous demeanor and captivating storytelling. Obed’s zest for life, his love for family, and playful nature will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
