James “Jamie” Henry Ellis Sims, 56, husband of Debbie Geddings Sims, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Born April 4, 1964, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James Sims and the late Deana Coker Pemberton. He was a member of Green Acres Assembly of God and was employed by Asplundh Tree Company. Survivors include his wife of 39 years; two children, Jason Sims and Stephanie McCormick (Richard) all of Sumter; grandchildren, Landon Sims, Aaron Sims, Caleb Sims, Jacob Birchfield, Lane Sims, Matthew McCormick, Tayleigh McCormick; and two brothers, Craig Pemberton and P.J. Pemberton both of New York. A funeral service will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday at Green Acres Assembly of God with the Rev. Michael Bowman and the Rev. Sammy Geddings officiating. Burial will be in the Green Acres Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew McCormick, Justin Sauls, Buddy Sauls, Chris Catoe, Thomas Catoe, and Michael Corbett. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday at Green Acres Assembly of God and other times at the home.
