Richard Leroy O'Hearn, age 90, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster following a period of declining health. He was born on February 23, 1930 in Loudonville to Clayton W. and Oda (Freehafer) O'Hearn and has been a Wayne County resident for most of his life. After graduating from high school in 1948, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He then married Patricia LaVern Chamberlin on September 20, 1953. She went home to be with the Lord in 1989. He previously had worked as an electrician for Rubbermaid in Wooster for 30 years before retiring in 1989. He was a long-time member of Oak Chapel United Methodist Church in Wooster. In addition to his hobby of numerous electrical projects, he enjoyed collecting different types of rocks and coins. He was a nature and cat lover and for many years and was proud to be a blood donor. He mostly loved spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his children, David (Traci) O'Hearn and Leslie (Gerald) Bruckner all of Wooster; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren and his sister-in-law, Esther O'Hearn of Berea, Ohio. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he is preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth O'Hearn. It was his previous wish that there be a private Celebration of his Life at a later date. A private burial will also take place at the Fike-O'Hearn Family Cemetery at the convenience of the family. There will be no public services or calling hours.
