Shirley Rose Moore

<p>Shirley Rose Moore was born on June 9, 1927, in Kamsack, Sk&nbsp;to Fred and Lena Clarke. Shirley was soon joined by two brothers, Bob and Doug. They grew up in Kamsack,&nbsp;making lifelong friends. Shirley married Tom Moore, her childhood friend, in 1951. Their courting was done on the ice rink, both beautiful speed skaters, and riding Tom&#39;s Harley 45. Shirley worked at the Bank of Montreal in&nbsp;Kamsack and the Monarch Lumber yard for a brief stint in Grandview, Shirley was involved in many local service clubs, and was a tireless advocate for the Saskatchewan Abilities Council. A lifelong member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Shirley served as the treasurer for over 60 years. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.&nbsp;Shirley tirelessly supported all teas, fund-raising projects,&nbsp;and community events, believing strongly in volunteering and participation, anything to&nbsp;better circumstances and the community.</p> <p>Shirley was a true people person. She was instrumental, along with Ruth Cooper, in tracking down hundreds of people for the 2005 Kamsack Homecoming Reunion, A very special treat was receiving a letter from Shirley. A&nbsp;gifted letter writer, her letters were absolute treasures, tailored exactly to the recipient and often included clippings of interest. It was a sad day for many people when Shirley&#39;s Christmas letters, each beautifully written with a quill pen dipped in ink, stopped.</p> <p>Mom was a wonderful, warm and welcoming host to each of her children&#39;s group of friends. A lovely, precious petite woman, her smile could light up a room. Mom was genuinely interested in people, she was a caring and kind friend to many. Her sweet and deliberate nature often disguised her sly sense of humor! Her penchant for cataloguing life and sharing it is one of her lasting legacies.</p> <p>Shirley entered into Eternal Rest on September 13, 2020 in Kamsack, at&nbsp;age 93. A Celebration of Life Service was held on September 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church&nbsp;in Kamsack. Officiant was The Reverend Nancy Brunt. Eulogist was Deb Sutherland. Readings were delivered by Adria Moore. Internment followed at the Riverview Cemetery in Kamsack.</p> <p>Shirley was predeceased by husband, Tom Moore;&nbsp;daughter, Donna Moore;&nbsp;brothers, Bob and Doug&nbsp;Clarke&nbsp;and sisters-in-law, Nora Clyde and Ruth Hillis.</p> <p>Left to celebrate Shirley&#39;s life are children, Deb and Bill Sutherland, Nancy and Jim Klempp, Grant and Tina Moore&nbsp;and Margo and Brian Lundstrom; grandchildren, Kellen (Dayna) Klempp, Jordan Klempp (Kyle Lishchynsky), Adria Moore, Alina Moore, Taylor Lundstrom and Davis Lundstrom; sister-in-law Margaret Clarke; nephews Barry (Mona) Clarke and Brian (Cathy) Clarke.</p> <p>The family would like to extend sincere thanks to all Shirley`s friends for your love, support, friendship and kind words. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in&nbsp;Shirley`s memory to the Holy Trinity Anglican Church or Eaglestone Lodge.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
