Violet Loujean Adams

Violet “Bob” Adams, 88, of Lumberport passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at United Hospital Center. She was born November 30, 1931 in Clarksburg a daughter of the late John Chester and Sara Manifee Murphy Sears. <br>She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eddie E. Adams whom she married on June 8, 1952. <br>Bob is survived by her brother, Kenny Murphy of Clarksburg; her five sisters, Pauline Medina of Clarksburg; Betty Posey and her husband Dave of Front Royal, VA; Dorthey Jefferson and her husband Richard of Pittsburgh; Carla Staughter of Killeen, TX; and Mary Anderson of Pittsburgh; her four children, Eddie M. Adams of Lake Dallas, TX; Steven Adams and his wife Dolly of Lumberport; Chris Adams of Lumberport; and Kimberly Stire and her husband Jeff also of Lumberport; as well as 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special dog whom she loved very much, Hailey Lynn.<br>In addition to her parents and husband, Bob was preceded in death by her son, Gary Adams; grandson, Chris McKinny; her step-father, Jack Sears; brother, John Murphy Jr.; and two daughters-in-law, Diane Adams and Donna O’Connor. <br>Bob, as she was known, was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzle books as well as collecting salt and pepper shakers. Having a “green thumb” she enjoyed a large assortment of plants at her home. Bob was also a lover of all animals. She rescued and adopted many cats and dogs. Bob was also a huge fan and collector of Elvis Presley and was also an avid fan of West Virginia University. The family would like to thank the Hospice Care at United Hospital Center especially her nurse Sarah. <br>The family will receive friends at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Monday from 3-7pm. A funeral service will be held that evening at 7:00 pm with Pastor Tim Sandy officiating. Following cremation services, she will be interred next to her husband at Stonewall Cemetery in Stonewood.
