Teresa A. "Terry" (Nadeau) Simpson Obituary

Teresa (Terry) Simpson, Age76, of Lynn passed away at her home on September 17, 2020 after a long battle with ALS with which she so courageously struggled.  She was surrounded by her loving husband Herb with whom she spent fifty years of marriage and her loving family.  Born in Lynn to Irene and Eugene Nadeau, Teresa graduated with honors from Lynn English High School where she was voted “Miss Venus” in 1962.  Formerly she served as a Legal Secretary in Lynn and also served as Executive Secretary to the Register of Deeds in Salem. Teresa was very active in her church serving as a Eucharistic Minister for many years at Our Lady of the Assumption in Lynnfield and at the Carmelite Chapel in the Mall in Peabody.  She also taught CCD at Our Lady’s. Teresa was also an active lay Carmelite since 1989 serving as its director for many years. Terry was a very much loved stepmother and leaves sons James H. Simpson and his wife Debbie of Lynn and Mark H. Simpson and his companion Kathy Slaven of Salem.  She also leaves daughters Trynda Clark and her former husband Alden of Lynn and Julie Webber and her husband Paul of Nahant and the late Thomas H. Simpson and his former wife Deborah Waters of Nahant. Teresa also leaves grandchildren Terri Simpson, Thomas Simpson, Eric Simpson, Kayla Simpson, Donna Perry, Samantha Jo Webber, Gina Simpson, Charles Clark, and Natalie Clark, and two great-grandchildren, Laura Simpson and Kaleigh Simpson. Closeness of family was always an important aspect of Terry’s life.  She cherished and maintained a warm relationship with her sister Donna Nadeau of North Situate, R.I., Jolene Hyde and her husband Skip of Lynn, Mary Cuculo and her husband Joe of Northwood, N.H., and her brother Eugene and his wife MaryNell of Kennesaw, GA.  and her late brother James of Lynn.  She also had a warm and loving relationship with her many nieces and nephews. Terry always felt so blessed by the love and care shown to her during her illness by her children and family for which she thanked God every day of her life and especially for her daughter Julie Webber who along with Terry’s faithful husband Herb as caregivers for her long illness. Teresa (Terry) rests now in the arms of her loving God. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:00AM in Our Lady of the Assumption Church 17 Grove Street Lynnfield, MA followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn.
