<p>On Tuesday, September 15th, 2020, Louis Lee Lighter passed away at 82 years of age. Louis was born to Ralph and Goldie Lighter on February 26th,1938 at Fort Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton, OH. Louis met Sandra Keasling in 1959 while they both worked at Miami University. Louis was a great provider for his wife and two daughters, Sherrill Kay and Deborah Jo. During his employment he took pride in being a fourth-generation groundskeeper of the Miami University football field.&nbsp;</p> <p>Upon retirement from Miami University, Louis and Sandy followed their passion to travel the continental United States, full-time in a recreational vehicle. They began permanent residency in Bradenton, FL, after four- and one-half years of travel. Louis enjoyed the warm air and sandy beaches.</p> <p>After enjoying 15 years of life in Florida, they returned to his hometown of Oxford, OH. Louis was preceded in death by his mother (Goldie Lighter), his father (Ralph Lighter), his sister (Barbara Lighter), his grandfather (Ed Garver), and grandmother (Emma Garver).</p> <p>He is survived by his wife (Sandra Keasling Lighter), two daughters (Deborah Lighter Simmons; husband, David Simmons and Sherrill Lighter Umbstead; husband, David Umbstead), four grandchildren (Matthew Simmons; wife, Jennifer, Christopher Simmons; wife, Glaiza, Kimberly Umbstead, and Stephen Simmons), and 3-week old great-grandchild (Christopher and Glaiza), Aquila Simmons.</p> <p>The Memorial and Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 10:00 AM at Millville Avenue Church of God, 1369 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013. A private graveside service will be taking place on Saturday, October 10, 2020.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, feel free to send contributions to the church Louis attended in his memory, <a href="https://millvilleavenue.com/">Millville Avenue Church of God</a>,1369 Millville Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.</p>
