Cora Goodwin

Funeral services for Cora Goodwin, 86, of Brazoria will be Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Mt. Zion Church with Bishop Timothy Higgins III eulogizing and Elder Roland K. Hendricks officiating.  Burial will follow at Mims Community Cemetery.

She passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at St. Luke Baylor Medical Center in Houston, TX.

She was a member of Magnolia Bible Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

She leaves precious memories with her daughter, Grenda Monroe of Houston, TX; brother in laws, John Goodwin (Bessie) of Brazoria, Ralph Jackson of San Francisco, CA; special extended family, Jesse Mack, Clara Johnson, Rita George, Shirley Saleem, Loretta Layman, Napoleon Johnson, John and Becky Simmons; two grandchildren, Markus Averhart (Michelle) of Brazoria, Janay Monroe of Houston; three great-grandchildren, Jamarkus Averhart, Jamorrious Jenkins, Torri Averhart; one great great-grandchild, Carter Jenkins; Godchildren, Melinda Bonner and Tommy Bell; best friends, Alice Moore, Ernestine Randon, Elizabeth Hall; and a host of other family and friends.

Active pallbearers will be Kenneth Alexander, Samuel Goodwin, Robert George, Ronnie LaPaul, Jamarkus Averhart and Pendleton Johnson.

Visitation will be Friday, September 18, 2020 from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. at Dixon Funeral Home in Brazoria.
