<p>Obituary for Ray Chiarelli<br /> Ray Chiarelli, 98, a native and life resident of Madera passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020. He attended Alpha School, was a graduate of Madera Union High class of 1939 and attended college at UCLA and Woodbury with intent to become an attorney. Rays father&rsquo;s untimely passing brought him back to run the family farm. During WWII he served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed at Balboa, CA. After the war he had a Juke Box and Slot machine route in Madera and Southern California. Ray owned Chiarelli Music and later sold it to his employee Jerry Venturi, which is now called Venturi House of Music.<br /> <br /> Ray was an active member of St. Joachim Catholic Church and was an Usher for many years. He served as a 3rd degree Council #3643 Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of the 4th degree in Knights of Columbus. Ray was a life member of VFW Post 1981 in Madera and the past President of the Italian Catholic Federation.<br /> <br /> Ray is survived by Louise, his wife of 63 years. His children: Carol Chiarelli of Madera, Jack Chiarelli and his wife Jennifer of Martinez, CA and Michael Chiarelli of Santa Monica, CA. He also leaves behind his loving Granddaughter Juliana Chiarelli.<br /> <br /> The family would like to express appreciation to Ray&rsquo;s caregivers, Adela, Laura and Martha for the kindness shown to him.<br /> <br /> Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20, 2020 from 2-6 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 9:30 am in the Courtyard at St. Joachim Catholic Church with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am. Entombment will be at Calvary Mausoleum in Madera.<br /> <br /> Donations may be made to St.Joachim School or donor&rsquo;s favorite charity.</p>
