Donald "Buford" Carl White JR Obituary

Donald “Buford”  Carl White, JR.

Donald (Buford) Carl White Jr. 56 of Lowell/Jonesville VT passed away September 13, 2020 after a very long hard battle with diabetes at the UVM Medical Center with his family by his side.

Donald was born June 21, 1964, in to Donald Carl White Sr and Ann Elizabeth (Murray) White in Burlington VT.

He lived in Winooski until he was 7 years old which is when the family moved to make their home in Jonesville. Donald attended Richmond schools and graduated from Mount Mansfield Union High School in 1982. After graduating, Donald had many jobs that he enjoyed including the Venture Farm, Richmond Cheese Plant, EB&AC Whitings, Waterbury Zachary's, I-81 Truck stop (VA), Pulaski Furniture (VA), Crayola Crayon Factory (VA), and ending with PetSmart.

Growing up he loved fishing and spending time with family and friends. During his free time and during the time of him being home,  he loved watching football (the Bills), wrestling, and NASCAR.  His favorite driver was Tony Stewart who he affectionately name his cat after.

Donald joined the Beacon Light Grange in Richmond with his mother 15 years ago and was active with them until his health started to decline.

Donald moved to Virginia in the early part of the 90's. While there he married twice and divorced twice never having any children of his own. While in Virginia he visited a zoo and saw some white tigers and their babies and instantly fell in love. He started collecting everything white tiger after that. After about 18 years his health started to decline due to the diabetes and he decided to move home to be with family and his mother who helped take care of him until his health declined too far for her. He lived 1 year in a nursing home then an angel came into his life and brought him to her home and took care of him. Lois Callahan and her husband Jim and their family made the last 3 1/2 years of his life worth living. Lois never let him give up. They took him in and made him a part of their family. Our family will be forever grateful.

Donald leaves a large family; his mom Ann White of Lowell/Williston/Jonesville, his sister Anne-Marie (Lee) Dupere of Jonesville, brother Henry White and fiancee Bonnie Baker of Fairfax, sisters Diana (James) Poirier of Arizona, Mary (David) Ball of Arizona, brother David (Judy) White of North Carolina, brother Peter (Christa) White of Burlington. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Kayla (Harvey) Mayo, Bradley Dupere, Macie (Steven) Whitaker, Destiny White, Amy (Jeff) Barnier,  Michael (Andrea) Poirier, Chris (Kristen) Ball, Lauren Ball, Jeremiah White, Nicholas White, Jacob White, Erica White, Hunter White, 12 great nieces and nephews and many aunts uncle's and cousins.

He was predeceased by his father Donald Sr in 1990, his grandparents Chauncey and Florence White and Glenn and Doris Murray.

Wherever this journey has taken you, I pray you are enjoying the sights you couldn't see here. Feeling the things you couldn't feel here and walking and running everywhere you can. Live free and fly high for you are free from all of your suffering.
