Sybil Luckett Fussell, 93, of Oak Ridge, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at her home. She was born October 2, 1926 in Nashville, one of eight children born to Oliver Prim Luckett and Geneva Veneable Luckett. Mrs. Fussell owned and operated Sybil’s Beauty Shop out of her home. She was an avid swimmer and swam every weekday at the Oak Ridge Civic Center pool, until she was 90 years old and her health began to decline. She also enjoyed gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Lonnie M. Fussell; son, Lonnie C. Fussell and all of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Whitehead and her husband Jack of Shreveport, LA; 5 grandchildren, Brad Fussell and wife Tracey of Knoxville, Kim Griffiths and husband Dan of Atlanta, Leslie Roberts and husband Chip of Knoxville, Shelley Booker and husband Patrick and Brian Whitehead and wife Penny, all of Shreveport, LA; 9 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her Sun Conure parrot “Petey” who was the sunshine in her day. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 1 – 2pm at Weatherford Mortuary.
