<p><span style="font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times,serif;">Joan Laura (Molle) Seiler 84, Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully after a short courageous battle with cancer on September 15, 2020, in Algoma.&nbsp; She was born on June 8, 1936, in Algoma to Elmer and Ruth (Laubenstein) Molle.&nbsp; Joan graduated from Algoma High School in 1954. &nbsp;&nbsp;On April 27, 1957, she was united in marriage to John A. Seiler at St. Paul&rsquo;s Church in Algoma.&nbsp;&nbsp; Joan joined John in Dayton, OH and Duluth, MN during his time in service.&nbsp; In 1960, they moved back to Sturgeon Bay and she helped John in his gas station business.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times,serif;">Joan was a long-time member of St. Peter&rsquo;s Lutheran Church and past member of the Ladies Aid.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling, camping, ceramics, playing card games, spending time out at the cottage on Clark Lake and spending time with her family. &nbsp;&nbsp;She and John traveled across the country and made it to all 50 states.&nbsp; Joan also enjoyed wintering down in McAllen, Texas.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times,serif;">She is survived by her husband John, of 63 years;&nbsp; four daughters, Lori (Tom) Cofrin, Terri (Jerry) McArdle,&nbsp; Kerri (Dan) Mallien, Jodi (Korey) Mallien; 11-grandchildren; 7-great grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Randy) Piontek; sisters-in-law, Janet Rader and Keitha Seiler; nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Grace and Walter Seiler; granddaughter, Megan McArdle; brothers-in-law, Jocko Rader and Jim Seiler.&nbsp;</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times,serif;">Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020, at St. Peter&rsquo;s Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Sauer officiating.&nbsp; Face masks are required, and social distancing&nbsp;measures will be implemented.&nbsp; Burial will be in Schumacher Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter&rsquo;s Church and UW Carbone Cancer Center (for research).</span></span></p> <p><em><span style="font-size: 16px;"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times,serif;">Thank you to Elyse Engebose at Bellin Center in Sturgeon Bay and the staff at Algoma Long Term Care unit for their wonderful care and support.</span></span></em></p>

Obituary

Joan Laura (Molle) Seiler 84, Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully after a short courageous battle with cancer on September 15, 2020, in Algoma.  She was born on June 8, 1936, in Algoma to Elmer and Ruth (Laubenstein) Molle.  Joan graduated from Algoma High School in 1954.   On April 27, 1957, she was united in marriage to John A. Seiler at St. Paul’s Church in Algoma.   Joan joined John in Dayton, OH and Duluth, MN during his time in service.  In 1960, they moved back to Sturgeon Bay and she helped John in his gas station business.

Joan was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and past member of the Ladies Aid.  She enjoyed traveling, camping, ceramics, playing card games, spending time out at the cottage on Clark Lake and spending time with her family.   She and John traveled across the country and made it to all 50 states.  Joan also enjoyed wintering down in McAllen, Texas.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Joel Sauer officiating.  Face masks are required, and social distancing measures will be implemented.  Burial will be in Schumacher Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Church and UW Carbone Cancer Center (for research).
