<p>Betty Ruth Vaughn Tucker, loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, nanny, and great-nanny went on to be with the Lord on September 15, 2020. She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on January 21, 1935, to Huey Vaughn and Doris Vaughn Wade. &nbsp;Betty Ruth is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Eugene, son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sandra Tucker, daughter-in-law, Melinda Tucker, sister, Jeannie Slagel, sister and brother-in-law, Janetta and Howard Cockrell. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were very special to her and they loved her very much. They include Kyra Burns and husband, Justin, Kadrian Whisenhunt and husband, Chad, Kyle Tucker, Konner Tucker and wife, Lexi, Brad Tucker and wife, Tiffany, Brianne Wade and husband, John, Tyler Tucker and wife, Stacey. Great-grandchildren are Scout, Pearce, and Jentry Burns, Charlotte and Sophie Whisenhunt, Jackson Tucker, Waylon, Tucker, Savannah, Eli, Mason, and Lily Lu Wade and Wyatt Tucker. She also has several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;Betty Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, son, Stephen Tucker, sister, Billie White, and her in-laws, Oliver Cephus and Clara Bell Tucker, who all dearly loved her.</p> <p>Betty Ruth grew up on a farm in Somerset, Kentucky and graduated from Pulaski County High School in 1952. She was involved in 4H and won the Pulaski County Championship in Gardening and was state runner-up for showing Black Angus Cattle. &nbsp;She married her best friend and love of her life, Eugene Tucker on June 17, 1952. Their oldest son, Stephen was born in 1953 and youngest son, Mark in 1956. After living in Danville, Kentucky for 9 years, Betty Ruth and her family moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma in March, 1963 when Eugene was transferred to manage the Southern Ice Company, later to be called Sapulpa Ice when the Tuckers purchased the business. Betty Ruth served as a social worker for the state of Oklahoma for 20 years. During that time she helped numerous families who were in great need.</p> <p>Being from Kentucky, Betty Ruth loved basketball and enjoyed watching her sons play the game. After Betty Ruth and Eugene retired, they moved back to Kentucky to help take care of their family. They enjoyed traveling together and spending time with their family and friends. Betty Ruth also loved having her grandchildren spend the night and always had fun activities planned for them to do. She was a long time Sunday school teacher, youth worker, and choir member within the Baptist denomination. She loved sharing her faith and was a true servant of the Lord.</p> <p>The family of Betty Ruth Tucker appreciates the love and care &ldquo;The Gardens&rdquo;, Sapulpa gave to their loved one during the past 4&frac12; years. Betty Ruth&rsquo;s celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 19th, 2020 at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Sapulpa. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa, OK.</p>
