Roy Eugene Stanley, age 59 passed away Tuesday 9/15/2020 at his home. He was born July 21, 1961 in Norfolk, VA to the late George and Martha Marie Stanley. He was a welder for Thompson International and Rhodes International. Roy was an avid UK basketball fan. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, playing corn hole, playing basketball, grilling, and dancing. Roy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and loved his dog, Nina. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Thomas and Sarah Susie Elrod; his brothers, Jerry, Johnny, and Billy Stanley; his sisters, Nancy Lynn Stanley Masters and Patricia Ann Stanley Perryman Survivors include: 3 Sons: Michael Vaughn of Bradenton, FL Joseph Lee Stanley and wife Alyssa of Elizabeth City, NC Roy Eugene Stanley, Jr. and wife Jade of Lebanon, VA 3 Daughters: Jesse Marie Keen and husband Hank of Honaker, VA Morgan Lynn Stanley and husband Travis of Henderson, KY Taylor Vernam of Henderson, KY 2 Sisters: Barbara Jones (caregiver) of Henderson, KY Sarah Clement and husband Clete of Henderson, KY Companion and Caregiver: Susie Gish 2 Brothers: Harold Stanley of Virginia George Stanley of Virginia Caregiver: Latisha Hill of Henderson, KY 4 Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews Funeral service will be 1PM Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Whitsell Funeral Home in Sturgis, KY. Rev. Phillip Wagoner will officiate. Visitation will be 4-7PM Friday and 11AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Haven Pentecostal Church, 425 Kresge Drive, Henderson, KY 42420.
