Darlene A. Steinberg Obituary

Darlene A. Steinberg, age 81, of Faribault, MN, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Homestead Hospice House in Owatonna, MN following an extended illness.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Elden Eklund officiating.  Interment will be held at the Maple Lawn Cemetery, Faribault.

Visitation will be held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

The family would like to send special thanks to Allina Hospice and the Homestead Hospice House for the wonderful care that was given to Darlene.

Darlene Ann, the daughter of Arnold and Elsie (Barton) Madson was born on January 12, 1939 in Albert Lea, MN.  She attended country school in New Richland, MN and later attended Morristown High School.  On February 3, 1969 she was united in marriage to Richard Steinberg in Lake City, IA.  Richard preceded her in death on January 3, 2016.  Darlene was a bartender at the Venture Bar for many years and later worked at REM Woodvale Group Home as a PCA for over 20 years.  Family was most important to Darlene and she enjoyed spending time with all of her family, including the trips to Treasure Island Casino and playing bingo together.  Darlene took care of the “Shack” concession stand at Alexander Park for many years during the softball seasons.  She also enjoyed having garage sales, going to auctions, flea markets and camping for many years.

She is survived by her children, Vicky (Gaylen “Bud”) Wright, Ricky (Kate) Steinberg and Angie (Gary) Kuhlman, all of Faribault; by 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; by her siblings, Jim (Irene) Madson, Maynard (JoAnn) Madson, both of Waseca, MN, Larry (Marion) Madson of Mankato, MN, Linda (Paul) Enger of Owatonna, MN, Carol (Tom) Ericson of Farmington, MN and Brenda (Myron) Kamrath of Faribault and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Roger Dahle, daughter, Cheryl Bailey, three brothers, Everett, Dick and Randy Madson and by her sister, Delores Steinke.
