<p>Luvert Carter Harris was born on September 17, 1951, to the late Patsy and Willie Harris Sr.&nbsp; On September 12, 2020, his soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of eternal rest.&nbsp;</p> <p>Luvert was educated in the York County Public School System.&nbsp; At a&nbsp;young age, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized at New Quarter Baptist Church.</p> <p>He is predeceased by his wife, Gertrude Harris; grandparents, Samuel and Viola Hastings; three brothers, Joseph Johnson, Willie Harris Jr., and Early Johnson; and a sister, Williebell Johnson.</p> <p>His memory will be forever cherished by&nbsp;Barbara Harris and their daughters, Christina Harris, Melissa Glover, and Rita White; son, Joseph Smoot; granddaughter, Christiana Jones; brother, Morris Harris (Mary Lou); two sisters, Gracie Hastings and Susie Wallace (Raymond); special friend, Elnora Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.</p> <p>A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2020, in Whiting&#39;s Chapel.&nbsp; Due to the current health pandemic on 50 people may be in attendance.&nbsp; Face coverings and social distancing are required.&nbsp; Facebook Livestream will be available for this service.&nbsp; Mr. Harris may be viewed beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the hour of his service on Saturday.</p> <p>Professional services entrusted to the staff of Whiting&#39;s Funeral Home, 7005 Pocahontas Trail, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185. 757-229-3011. whitingsfuneralhome.com</p>

Luvert Carter Harris was born on September 17, 1951, to the late Patsy and Willie Harris Sr.  On September 12, 2020, his soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain, to a place of eternal rest. 

Luvert was educated in the York County Public School System.  At a young age, he gave his life to Christ and was baptized at New Quarter Baptist Church.

He is predeceased by his wife, Gertrude Harris; grandparents, Samuel and Viola Hastings; three brothers, Joseph Johnson, Willie Harris Jr., and Early Johnson; and a sister, Williebell Johnson.
