Ernest Oscar Whitener of Mexia passed away on September 16, 2020 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Lost Prairie Cemetery with Joey Whitener officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Corley-Porter Funeral Home in Mexia. Ernest was born July 24, 1940 in Blooming Grove, Texas to Oscar and Lillie Lloyd Whitener. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Odom Ray Whitener and Billy Whitener and sisters, Nancy Witt and Bonnie Hearne. Ernest is survived by his son, Jason Whitener & wife Katie of Florida; sister-in-law, Mildred Whitener of Mexia; cousins, Doris Martin of Hubbard, Mamie Ray Dabney of Houston and Martha Shipp of Coolidge and numerous nieces and nephews Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Smith, Ray Smith, Randy Smith, Colton Whitener, Frankie Isbell and William Willis.
