Major Ty Hayes

Major Ty Anthony Hayes, age 51, of Tallapoosa, GA, passed away September 15, 2020. He was born March 25, 1969 in Atlanta, GA to Riley Carl Hayes, Jr. and Carolyn Callaway Hayes. He is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Alana Joy “AJ” Hayes, of Tallapoosa; daughters and son in law, Megan and Iowan Swafford, of Jacksonville, NC and Courtney Hayes, of Bremen, GA; grandchildren, Lillian Swafford and Delilah Swafford; parents, Riley Carl and Carolyn Hayes, Jr., of Temple, GA; sisters, Peggy Butler, of Commerce, GA and Debbie West, of Honea Path, SC; and brother, Riley Carl “Jay” Hayes, III, of Moreland, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:00PM at the Kingdom of God International Ministry in College Park, GA. Major Hayes will lie in state at the church from 9:00AM until the funeral hour. In keeping with Major Hayes’ wishes, he will be laid to rest on his property in Tallapoosa. A graveside service will be held Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 12:00PM at the Hayes Farm with Pastor Warren Henry, Sr. officiating. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, we ask that the funeral service be reserved for family and Law Enforcement participants only. Friends wishing to attend the lie-in-state may do so, but we ask that you exit after you have paid respects. For those that cannot attend, the service will be available live on our funeral home Facebook page. The graveside service is available for anyone who wishes to attend. We ask that for all services, guests wear a mask and continue to distance themselves from those not in their household. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Fund.
