Helen L. "Long" Emery

Emery, Helen L. Long, 86, of Pine Grove, WV, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at John Manchin Assisted Living in Farmington, WV. She was a member of the Pine Grove Christian Church. She was born May 30, 1934 in Pine Grove, WV, the daughter of the late Hugh W. and Elizabeth R. (McGinnis) Fiber. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Lee Long, and her second husband, Donald “Red” Emery. Surviving is a daughter, Natala (Tim) Wilcox, two sons, Tim (Janette) Long and Steve (Christina) Long, three grandchildren, Morgan (Chelcie) Long, Jamie and T.C. Long, and a sister, Doris Jean Wyatt. Friends will be received on Thursday from 5-8 PM at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, WV. The funeral will be held on Friday at 1 PM at the Pine Grove Christian Church. Interment at the Long Cemetery near Pine Grove. Online condolences may be expressed at palmerfuneral.com.

I taught Helen how to swim. We had such fun that summer. She actually jumped off the board and swam to the side. Helen was a lovely, happy lady. I’ll miss seeing her.
