Thressa "Teddy" Kingma Bozeman, Montana Obituary

Thressa "Teddy" Kingma

Ask us about our wife, mom, grandma, and sister and we would say that she was a hoot! From the day Thressa Danhof-Kingma, “Teddy”, was born on May 24, 1930, she was full of spunk, vim, and vigor, and was an instigator of fun. Skits, pranks, and theatrics of all kinds were only matched by a passion for cleanliness, baking, and gardening. The daughter of Andrew Danhof and Gertrude Kamps, Teddy had eight partners in crime in her brothers and sisters: John, Bern, Clarence, Ret, Evie, Andy, Jim, and Wayne. At the wedding festivities of her brother, Clarence, she met and fell in love with George Kingma of Grangeville, Idaho. On October 26, 1951 they married and George became her new life-partner in crime for almost 69 years. Over the years, they had five lovely children who are dearly loved: Tom (Judy), Phyllis (Fred), Janice, Ken (Sandy), and Tammy (Jerry). She and George attended Bozeman Christian Reformed Church for the fullness of their years, where they made many friends and memories. Up until 80 years of age, Teddy went on weekly hiking outings with friends and was known for her cinnamon rolls, red velvet cake, rhubarb pie, and whoopie cushion antics. As the years rolled by, she developed Parkinson’s disease and began to lose memories of prior years. On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, she went to join her friends and family in heaven. Most excited to welcome her are her parents; her siblings, Bern, Clarence, and Wayne; her daughter, Phyllis; her grandsons, Trevor and Travis; and her son-in-law, Jerry. She is survived by her loving husband, George, and children, Tom, Janice, Ken, and Tammy. She will be dearly missed, always loved and never forgotten. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, October 3 at 10:30 A.M. at Bozeman Christian Reformed Church. Please remember to bring a mask. Memorial donations in Teddy's name may be made to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Ste. 800, Miami, FL 33131. parkinson.org To view the service, please visit: https://youtu.be/qJWQHkFQQuE
