Marjorie Jean Stone, 81, of Lapeer, died Wednesday September 16, 2020, surrounded by family. She was born May 28, 1939 in North Branch to parents Ralph and Ruth Smith. Margie graduated Lapeer High School Class of 1957. She married William “Bill” Stone on August 8, 1958 in Fort Hood, Texas. She volunteered at the Lapeer General Hospital (more recently, McLaren) for 23 years. Mrs. Stone was an avid bowler; in leagues, at Gerlach’s Bowling Center, Lapeer. She also helped for many years on the election commission. Margie is survived by her daughters: Kendra (Kevin) Knight of Chapel Hill, TN, Beth (Jeff) Karassy of Lake Orion, grandchildren: Adam (Katie) Harding, Alisa Harding, Andrea Harding, Kori Knight, Kendall (Brittany) Knight, great-grandchildren: Addison, Avery, Connor, Robin, Grant, sister: Betty (Don) Brown and sister-in¬-law: Yvonne Delling. She was preceded in death by her husband: Bill, siblings: Carl Delling, Cathryn Newman, mother: Ruth Smith, father: Ralph Smith and step-mother: Huldah Smith. A graveside service will be 2:00pm Friday September 18, 2020 at Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
