Elaine Traylor Obituary

On September 16, 2020 in the early morning hours, Ms. Elaine Traylor made her transition to be with the Lord.  She was the 2nd born to the union of the late Mr. Clint Traylor Jr. and Lillie Kyle Traylor in Etowah County AL on July 7, 1958.

Elaine was educated in the public schools of Gadsden, Al.  She was a 1976 graduate of Gadsden High School and a 1988 graduate from New World College with a degree in Cosmetology.

At an early age, Elaine expressed her belief in the Lord and Savior Jesus and united with Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Hoyt, the late Rev. Granger, and Pastor Larry G. Weathers until her health declined.  She served faithfully as choir member, missionary worker, and in other aspects of the church.  Elaine loved children and worked in the daycare business for many years.  She later went into caregiving and cared for the sick and shut-in until now.  Her clients were very special to her.

Elaine was a joyful person.  To know her was to love her.  Always smiling!  She always made one feel that you were very special.  In her spare time, she loved to travel and stayed on the go doing things with her grandkids, family, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clint Traylor Jr. and Lillie Kyle Traylor and brother Lamar C. Traylor.  She leaves to cherish her loving memory, one devoted son Mr. Derrick Antwon Traylor Sr.; two loving grandchildren Derrick Antwon Traylor Jr. (DJ) and Dacyn Smith; one devoted sister Wanda Kay (Harry) Winston; two devoted brothers Larry J. Traylor and Derrow Lee (Dinia) Traylor; loving nieces Tamika Howell, Bettie (Andre) Dobbins, Sharletta Underwood, Chasity Gibbs, Janice Sayles, Jerrail (Jasmine) Moragne, Tomiko Tolliver, and Tawianna Taylor; great nephews Dreshun Winston, Edwin Howell Jr., Jordan Underwood, Gerald Johnson IV, Zariya Mahone, Zylina Gibbs, and Kingston Taylor; great aunt Eartice Langston of South Haven, Michigan; aunt Gwendolyn Traylor of Cleveland, Ohio; uncle Harrold Traylor of South Bend, Indiana; special sister Anna Heard; special cousins Barbara Woods, Walt (Joanne) Higgins, Mike (Mary) Higgins, Brenda (Cupcake) Madden, Vanessa Traylor, and Gerrard Traylor; special friends Kenny and Diane Malone, Randy Erwin, Eunice Johnson, Cecila Hale, Sylvia Holifield, Helen Poole, Renee Usher, Glenda Engle and a host of other relatives and very devoted friends.
