Lucy Hampton Murphy Obituary

Watch Livestream Mrs. Lucy Mae Hampton Murphy, 77, of Richmond, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond. She was born in Richmond on November 12, 1942 to the late May “Buck” & Katherine Conner Hampton. Mrs. Murphy was a home-health nursing assistant and will be remembered as a woman with a strong faith that loved her family most of all. She looked forward to holidays when she would prepare meals for the family and be able to spend time together – especially with the grandkids. Mrs. Murphy also enjoyed reading and working in her flower garden. Survivors include: her husband of 51 years, Benjamin Murphy; her two daughters, Rena Keath (Chris) and Lucy Benge (Ryan); two grandchildren, Caleb Keath, and Katherine Keath; a loving friend, Sherman Denny; two brothers, Billy & Richard Hampton; and her puppy, Frankie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David & James Hampton. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2020, at the Flatwoods Cemetery with Elder Mike Keath officiating. A live-stream of the service can be viewed on our website starting at 2:00 PM Friday. The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home, W. Main St., Richmond, is in charge of the arrangements.
