Phyllis 'Pam' A. Schmidt Stuart, Florida Obituary

Phyllis 'Pam' A. Schmidt

Phyllis “Pam” Schmidt passed away peacefully on September 8, 2020, in Stuart, Florida. She was born on, February 4, 1927, in Jackson, Michigan to Robert and May Jane “Nana” McGehee. Pam eloped and married her one true love, Richard James Schmidt, on September 4, 1945, who preceded her in death in 2015. We are comforted and find peace knowing the two are together again, walking the streets of gold, hand in hand, forever. Pam also carried the name, Mom, Granny as well as Great Granny proudly. She loved to love on people; loved family gatherings and liked for everything to be just “so”. She took pride in her family, loathed in conversations and loved when everyone was doing well. For many years Pam worked in the retail industry. It suited her love of fashion and clothing. She loved to iron and liked to cook, she was known to “Granny-ize” and question if she shut the appliances off; it was a common practice to have to double check and is a story that she leaves each of us with. Her life was an example of, Ephesins 4:32- “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you”. Pam is survived by her sister, Nancy Gordon, her five children, David Schmidt (Jodie), Philip Schmidt, Cynthia Rapp (Gregory), Martha Steffens (Keith), Mary Beth Danner (Ricky), her eight grandchildren, David Schmidt Jr, Elizabeth Mark, Jeremy Rapp, Todd Rapp, Travis Rapp, Shawn McCarthy, Matthew McCarthy and Holly Schmidt. In addition, her four great grandchildren, Evan McCarthy, Cameron McCarthy, Blake Schmidt, Hanna Schmidt as well as many nieces and nephews all of which she deeply loved. Pam will be laid to rest next to the love of her life on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Lauderdale Memorial Park. Due to the Covid-19 the service will be held for immediate family.
