Ann Marie Saalfrank, 71, of Hoagland, IN, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, September 15, 2020. Ann was born on September 13, 1949 in Decatur, IN, the daughter of the late Ralph M. and LaVonne (Casselman) Hobbs. On February 1, 1975, she married James D. Saalfrank.

She was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Decatur. She was the Food Service Manager for East Allen County Schools, retiring after 28 ½ years of service. She had also worked as a lab technician for St. Joseph Hospital.

Ann enjoyed cooking and baking. She also liked to fish, read, and play cards. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James D. Saalfrank of Hoagland; a daughter, Lisa Marie (Tad) Smith of Hoagland; a sister, Sally (Roy) Minnick of Decatur; half-brother, Ed Kreager of Hudson, FL; sister-in-law, Lorraine Hobbs; 2 grandchildren, Ella Ann Smith and Trevor James Smith.

Ann was preceded in death by 2 brothers Larry and John Hobbs.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at Haggard-Sefton-Hirschy & Zelt Funeral Home

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, with Father David Ruppert presiding.

Burial will take place in Monroeville Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
