Myrtle Proctor

Myrtle Rutherford Proctor, 87, of Clermont, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Myrtle was born on March 11, 1933 to Bill and Ernie Rutherford in Sparks, GA. Her parents later moved to Florida in 1948. In the early 50’s, Myrtle met Jim (James E.) Proctor, and they wed in December 1952, going on to have two children, Darrell Alan and Connie. Myrtle was a Baptist. Myrtle worked in the lunchroom at Mascotte Elementary School and Groveland High School. Myrtle always enjoyed having the neighborhood kids at her house to play and they really enjoyed her sweet tea and hugs. For vacation the family would go to campgrounds that had pools for Connie to swim and Darrell to watch over her. After retiring, Myrtle enjoyed cooking for her family and working in her yard. She really loved being outdoors. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim Proctor and sister Mildred Coker. She is survived by her son Darrell Alan Proctor of Ridge Manor and Connie Hart (Bazel) of Clermont. Two grandchildren, Brian Alan Proctor and Ashley Burgoyne (LJ). Two great grandchildren, Hayley and Brayden. Her brothers and sisters are Virginia Breeden, Bo Rutherford (Annie), Vadie Lockhart, and Sonny Rutherford (Bobbie).
