James Bacon Obituary

James S. Bacon, age 95, of Moose Jaw passed away in his sleep on September 9, 2020 at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital. Jim spent his whole life in Moose Jaw, attending King Edward Elementary School and Central Collegiate. He served in the Canadian Navy during World War II on a mine sweeper off the east coast, based in Halifax. He worked for nearly 40 years as an accounting clerk for the CP Railway, forming many lasting friendships over the years. In 1953, he married Frances McClelland, who predeceased him in 2016. Jim was a lifelong member of St. Andrews United Church and was active in the AOTS club. He sang in the Church choir. Jim was a Mason, as well as a member of Eastern Star. Jim enjoyed golf, curling, and tennis, as well as helping Frances in the garden. Jim and Fran were both members of the Moose Jaw Nature Society. Jim was predeceased by his brother Bob and his sister-in-law Shirley of Toronto. Jim is survived by his son Norman, daughter-in-law Karen and granddaughter Laura of Regina. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their children. Thank you to all the staff at Pioneer Housing, Moose Jaw for all the wonderful care they provided to both Jim and Frances for the past several years.
