Liz passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Liz Anna Fadness was born January 7, 2005 in Grand Forks, ND to Brian and Cheryl (Brutlag) Fadness. Liz was nine months old when she moved with her family to Williston, ND. While in Williston, for the first five years of her life, Liz spent her time playing house and playing in the mud with her brother Luke. When she wasn’t playing in the mud, she was with her neighbor buddies or sneaking across the street to Claus and Carol’s for fruit snacks and giggles. Liz and her family moved to Dickinson, where she started the first grade. Liz loved living closer to her grandparents so she could see them more often. When her grandparents would leave she would cry because she never wanted the fun to end. Liz was a creative little girl. At the age of two she could work a scissors better than most adults. We would find little piles of clipped papers and creations all over the house and in every corner. Liz hated picking up her creations. From creations, she moved into the “Slime Craze.” Oh how she drove us crazy with all her hundreds of slime tubs and recipes. Liz started her basketball career in the third grade. Of course, at that age she was more interested in who had the prettiest water bottle. Liz always wanted to ride dirt bike like her big brother Luke. We told her she had to be able to ride her bike without training wheels. So at three and a half, she ditched the training wheels, rode her bike, and then, with no fear, rode Luke’s dirt bike like a pro. Liz loved visiting the family farm and always wanted to live there so she could have her pets. Liz loved animals and always had a gentle touch with any animals she was around. Liz loved her Stuber family and was always ready to go help with chores. Liz made many friends in her 4-H club and counted down the days until fair time. Throughout her years of 4-H, she also learned archery. That girl could hit a bulls eye every time. Liz was an outstanding shot with a shotgun and rifle also. Liz was nine when William was born. She was the best “little mama” to him. Many times she could calm him when he was fussy. As time went by, she loved to take William and her grandparents to the Dickinson Dike to hunt for turtles. She will be missed so much by her little brother. Liz loved to go hunting with her dad and was not afraid to get her hands dirty when it came time to prep the animals to bring them home. Liz and her dad were so looking forward to deer season this year. Liz excelled in school and her teachers loved her joking and quick witted personality. Liz had so many things she wanted to do and try. If one were to see her room they would notice there was not a spot on her wall that was left undecorated. Liz’s favorite pastime was shopping at the ABLE thrift store and Decades for treasures that no one else would find of value and buy. Liz loved to go for coffee with her mom and hit those two stores. Luke played a huge roll in Liz’s life when Liz’s best friend Claire moved and she felt so lost. Luke took Liz to work at Paragon Bowl where she helped with the many birthday parties. Luke will always cherish the time they spent together. Liz had a thirst to travel and had so many other things to cross off her bucket list. This was Liz’s first year of wrestling calves for branding and she also got in on harvest this year. She helped her Uncle Bob and Cousin Matthew spending hours in the truck and combine and living the dream. Liz’s dad got her first motorcycle when she turned 13. We all loved going on family rides together out at the farm. Liz tried to keep up with her brother Luke on the motocross track, but he was just too fast. Liz had a wonderful summer hanging out at the lake with her many friends and could not wait to be with her football boys. She was also very excited to start her new job at BK Subs. Liz is survived by her parents, Brian and Cheryl Fadness; brothers, Luke and William; grandparents, Peggy Fadness, Donald and Johanna Brutlag. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roger Fadness. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial be made to Able Inc.
