Jacob Ian Trammel Obituary

Jacob Ian Trammel, age 37 passed away September 10, 2020 in Pasco, Washington. He is the son of Janice & David Thompson and Bill and Donna Trammel. Jacob was born June 1, 1983 at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas. He attended Crest School District in Colony, Kansas graduting in 2001. He worked several odd jobs until he joined the United States Navy in 2003. He was honorably discharged in August of 2010. He was a Gunner Mate 2nd Class on the USS German Town. After his discharge he worked for the City of Coffeyville as a lineman apprentice and TC Underground in Independence. He eventually went to the West Coast and made his home in Eugene & Springfield, Oregon area where he established a career as a pipefitter.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the Lone Cherry Baptist Church with the Pastor Gary Cole officiating. Burial will follow in the Havana Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2020 with the family receiving friends at the Potts Chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.

The family has suggested memorials to the Tunnel to Towers, FORPAZ or the Lone Cherry Baptist Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.

Survivors include his parents Janice & David Thompson, Elk City and Bill & Donna Trammel of Neodesha, Kansas; two sisters Leslie Metcalf of Elk City and Patricia & Richard Wooten of Neodesha; Grandmother Marjorie High of Independence, Kansas; Aunt Connie and husband Archie of Independence, Aunts Penny Trammel, Sally Swartz; Uncle Paul Trammel, two nieces, two nephews and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene Hight, Carol Trammel, Betty Trammel; three aunts, one uncle and one cousin.

Jacob was a kind and loving man. He formed bonds with people across the country. He was loved by many for his smile, his warmth and most of all for his “ I Love You Man”.
