William R. “Bill” Sutherland, Jr., age 67, a resident of Oswego, IL, since 2014, formerly of Brookfield and Plainfield, IL, passed away on Monday, September 14, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 22, 1953 in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of Mary Kay Sutherland (nee Holt), whom he married October 10, 1988, loving father of Amanda Akison, Shawn (Gail) Akison and Jason (Sarah Obradovic) Sutherland, adored grandfather of Seth, Katie, Tyler, Kristen, Chloe, Haley and Eli “Little Man”, devoted son of the late William, Sr. and Ruth (nee Forbes) Sutherland, dear brother of Patricia (Ed) Krch, Barbara (the late Ken) Hologa and Bobbie (Dimas) Rodriguez, son-in-law of Marjorie "Lady" Holt and the late Herman Holt, brother-in-law of Shirley (Jim) Zboran, Lydia (Mark) White and Robbie (the late Mike) Rohacek, fond nephew, cousin, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. Bill grew up in Chicago, was a graduate of St. Rita High School He was employed with Active Industries in Willowbrook, IL for 35 years, retiring in 2010. Bill was a member of Ministry of Reconciliation in Oswego, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 19, 2020, 2:00-5:00 PM at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd. (corner of Routes 30 & 59), Plainfield, IL. A celebration of Bill’s life will follow Saturday, 5:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will be private.
