Jeanine Rae Shiltz Obituary

Jeanine Rae Shiltz, age 53, of Cincinnati, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at MercyOne Medical Center in Des Moines.

Jeanine was born on December 15, 1966 in Buchanan, Michigan, the daughter of James L. Babb Sr. and Caroline Jean (Reed) Babb.  She graduated from Centerville High School with the Class of 1985. 

Jeanine was a homemaker her entire life.  Her pride and joy were her children and grandchildren.  She loved taking them on 4-wheeler rides.  She also enjoyed gardening, crafts, collecting geese and Bugs Bunny memorabilia, getting scratch off tickets and going to the casino.  Jeanine was the backbone to the family, and she will be missed deeply by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 30 years, Bill Shiltz of Cincinnati; seven children, Theodore (Amanda) Garrison, Brandon (Nikki) Shiltz Dixon, Scott (Alyson) Garrison, Steven Garrison, Leann Short, Sara Shiltz, and Shaylee Shiltz; 18 grandchildren, Tori Garrison, Jaiden Garrison, Joseph Garrison, Phoebe Hayes, Brodee Meeker, Brayden Garrison, Kilea Garrison, Alyssa Garrison, Victor Garrison, Dmitri Garrison, Jazmynn Crow, Crispin Hoover, Chad Short, Marley Peoples, Michael Bradley III, Treyton Shiltz, and two grandchildren to be, including Eleanor Jeanine Day; siblings, Jim Bob Babb, Jerry (Becky) Babb, Janie (Bill Brink) Wood; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Jeanine was preceded in death by her grandmother, Jane Lane; her mother, Caroline Babb; a brother, Jeffie Babb, son, Jonathan Shiltz, and son in law, Corey Short.

Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:30 PM, Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Centerville Assembly Church, 1020 E. Maple St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.  A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Centerville Reservoir.  Memorials may be made out to Scott Garrison, to be determined at a later date, and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory C/O Shiltz family, 1900 South 18th Street, Centerville, Iowa 52544.
