Billy Joe Williams – Bristol, VA Billy Joe Williams, 91, Bristol, VA passed away, Saturday, September 12, 2020 at his residence. Billy Joe was born in Wolfpit, KY on January 14, 1929, and was the son of the late Albert Burton and Lottie (Salling) Williams. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict and was retired from General Motors. In addition to his parents, his wife, Leila Marie “Fiddle” (Mann) Williams and his daughter, Katherine Marie Kendall preceded him in death. Surviving is his son, Larry Williams; grandchildren, Katherine "Charlene" Kendall, Christopher Kendall and wife, Brandy, and Samantha Lewis; great grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brother, Orbin Williams and wife, Betty; and sister, Nancy Vassallo, along with several aunts, uncles,nieces, nephews, and cousins. Military graveside services will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at the Flannary Cemetery in Wood, VA conducted by the VFW Troop #8652 of Coeburn, VA assisted by members of the Virginia Army National Guard Honors Team.
