Renann Newhouse Eason Obituary

The family of Renann “Sam /Sami” Newhouse Eason regret to announce her unexpected passing, peacefully in her sleep at her home in Rogersville Alabama on Saturday, September 12, 2020. Renann was born on November 20, 1948 in Corona California. She was the oldest of three girls of Phil and Irene Newhouse. Her father worked for 3M company for 36 years and her mom was a homemaker. The family were long standing members of The First Congregational Church in Corona. Sam participated in numerous church events and church summer camps. She was a talented seamstress, played the piano and was involved with a number of school activities, most especially the high school choir. She graduated from Corona Senior High School in Corona California in 1966. Renann was a member in good standing of Corona Assembly of Rainbow for Girls of Corona. She progressed though the steps and became Worthy Advisor and later was honored with the position of Grand Representative from California to the state of Rhode Island. Sami moved to St. Francisville, Louisiana in 1985, finally settling in Rogersville, Alabama in 1989. She adopted the South as her new home. She was an active member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Rogersville for many years, often helping with church activities. She worked as the gate keeper at Wheeler State Park Day Use Area for several years and at Lowes in the garden department. She was a gifted and talented artist and quilt designer. She enjoyed creating personalized gifts for family and friends. She also enjoyed counted cross stitch and most craft projects including whimsical and intricate Christmas keepsake ornaments and collage cards for birthdays and holidays. She also became an enthusiastic Southern cook and baker. Although her health often limited her abilities to do the things she would have liked in the last several years, Sami enjoyed trips with friends to flea markets, thrift stores and rummage sales always looking for another treasure or fabric or something she might use in one of her art projects.
