Lewis H. “Skip” Ewbank passed away September 8, 2020 at his home in Shannon, North Carolina. Skip, as he was known as by friends and family, was born December 1 1945 in Rushville, Indiana. He served in the U.S. Army in the mid 1960’s at Walter Reed Army Hospital until his discharge. He graduated from Armstrong State University in Savannah, GA in 1977. Skip worked in law enforcement in Savannah, GA as well as Miami, Fl. for a time before returning to North Carolina in the 1980’s. He worked for the Federal government at Fort Bragg, NC as an Investigator with the Defense Investigative Service until he retired. After retirement, Skip began Sandhills Investigations and Security LLC and worked as a consultant/contractor. Skip is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Gaines Ewbank, his mother, Martha Lee Ewbank (Gohring), and his wife of 50 years, Anne M. Ewbank (Davies). He is survived by his son, Lewis Gaines Ewbank III of Fayetteville, NC, his daughter, Meredith M. Ewbank also of Fayetteville, sister, Jennifer Ewbank Dentinger (Steve), of Peoria, IL, and brother, Ed Ewbank (Barb) of Bee, NE. No memorial service has been planned at this time.
