<p>SHANLEY STAR LEIGHTON</p><p><br></p><p>BANGOR - Shanley S. Leighton, 23, died after a sudden brief illness on September 11, 2020,</p><p>at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born May 25, 1997 in </p><p>Bangor, the daughter of Heidi (Gowen) Spain and her husband, Ty, Robert Mace Leighton </p><p>and his wife, Sarica.</p><p><br></p><p>Shanley was a very talented artist with drawing and cosmetology. She loved music, dancing</p><p>and scream singing. Shanley was a beautiful person who loved and adored her daughter Lilith.</p><p>She was a great big sister who would always look after her siblings as well as having close</p><p>relationships with her cousins. Shanley was very creative, expressive, strong, and not afraid to</p><p>be herself. She truly was a unique person to this world, who was very much loved and will be</p><p>greatly missed.</p><p><br></p><p>Shanley was predeceased by her sister, Alexis Mae Spain; brother; Austin Hewey; Great</p><p>Grandmother, Mary Bowden; Grandfather, John C. Kelleher Jr.; and Grandmother, Jay Mace.</p><p>Surviving in addition to her parents, daughter, Lilith Aurora Hoffman; siblings, Kayla, </p><p>Amethyst, Trevin, Dylan, Akira and Isla; Grandparents, Robert Gowen Sr. and his wife, Vicki </p><p>Gowen of Bangor, Randy Spain of Brewer, and Linda Kelleher of Orrington; and many aunts, </p><p>uncles, and special cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>A private ceremony will be arranged for family and friends.</p>

BANGOR - Shanley S. Leighton, 23, died after a sudden brief illness on September 11, 2020,

at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born May 25, 1997 in

Bangor, the daughter of Heidi (Gowen) Spain and her husband, Ty, Robert Mace Leighton

and his wife, Sarica.


Shanley was a very talented artist with drawing and cosmetology. She loved music, dancing

and scream singing. Shanley was a beautiful person who loved and adored her daughter Lilith.

She was a great big sister who would always look after her siblings as well as having close
