Charles Scott Haas Ocean Springs, Mississippi Obituary

Charles Scott Haas

Charles Scott Haas was born to Wanda J. Thompson Haas and Charles C. Haas on July 4th, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa. Charlie was a spunky spit fire from the beginning. He was very stubborn and would hold his breath until he passed out if he didn't get his way. That stubbornness was a trademark and served him well in many instances and occasionally did not! He loved his mom and enjoyed trying to turn her hair grey with his adventurous spirit. He lived in Waterloo with his mom and dad until he was about a year old when he got his greatest gift, a move to Dallas, Texas and his very best friend and partner in crime his baby sister, Tamara Lea. Charlie and his family lived in many places while growing up including Atlanta, Ga., Boston, Ma., North Carolina, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania to name a few. In the 6th grade Charlie and his family found what would be his home, the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Charlie loved Gulfport with his whole heart and had many adventures along the bayous, lakes, rivers, and the Gulf. He loved riding his motorcycle, was an animal lover, and had a huge and loyal heart. Charlie cherished his friends and always found a way to make them feel as though they mattered more than anything. After working for his father in the meat business and traveling around the states.,” Little” Charlie was happy to buy his home and settle back in Gulfport. He worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding as a sand blaster and painter and eventually with business skills learned from his dad, he started his own commercial and residential painting-pressure washing business. Charlie loved to swim, build things out of nothing, cook for friends, and he loved to brag about his three nieces. Charlie is survived by his mom Wanda Jeanne Thompson Haas and Jim Erwin; his sister and brother in law Tamara and Randy Canoy; his nieces: Krista Canoy-Krueger and David, Allie Canoy Illies and Matt, Randi-Kate Canoy Suhr and Brad; his great niece Jordan Lea Krueger; his girlfriend Karen Balog and their dog Duece as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Charles Clement Haas., his aunts Violet Kingbury and Joyce Haas, his uncles Gene Hansen and Steven Thompson as well as his grandparents, Harold and Ruth Thompson, Viola Haas Mount, Floyd Mount and Leo J.
