ELEANOR J. CAMPLING BRUBAKER Eleanor J. Campling Brubaker, 91, of Piqua died at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday December 7, 2016 at Brookdale of Piqua. She was born August 24, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Wayne C. and Frances (Graham) Benning. She married Robert A. Campling on August 28, 1943 in Covington, Kentucky; he preceded her in death April 18, 1971. She then married George W. Brubaker on September 27, 1980 in Piqua; he preceded her in death on May 30, 2013. Survivors include two sons, David (Betty) Campling of Piqua, Daniel (Sharon) Campling of Findlay; a daughter Rita (Paul) Larcom of Piqua; two stepdaughters, Sharon Ruhl of Olympia, Washington, Marilyn (John) Barnhart of Oxford; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a step-great-great-grandson; a sister, Virginia Grunert of Plainfield, Indiana; a brother, Robert Benning of Little River, South Carolina; a sister-in-law Mary Colby of Piqua, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brubaker was a 1943 graduate of Piqua Central High School. Besides being a homemaker, she worked for Ray Stubb's Nationwide Insurance office as well as Quality Forms in Piqua. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Hope Circle where she was in charge of sewing quilts after her retirement, Pals Club, Women's Homemaker Club and Piqua's Happy Square Dancing Club. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, playing cards, camping, painting crafts and watching Cincinnati Reds games. A service to honor her life will begin at 2:00 pm Tuesday December 13, 2016 at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Havey officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
