Theodore Raymond DeVore

Ted DeVore, 76, of Altus, Oklahoma left this world on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Kindred Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. <br />Ted was born in Watson, Missouri to John DeVore and Evelyn (Martin) DeVore. Ted's father was killed in World War II before he ever got to meet his son. Ted and his mother moved to Ellinwood, Kansas, after his mother married Robert Miller. He started his thirty eight year career in the banking industry in Kansas which led to NBC in Altus. Ted did radio announcing everywhere he lived. His specialties were football and basketball and it was most enjoyable job for him. He announced for Kingfisher, Edmond sports, Western Oklahoma State College, and Altus where he was known as "the voice of the Altus Bulldogs" until his health declined. As a much younger man Ted played softball in the 80's for several slow pitch teams in and around Altus.<br />Ted is preceded in death by his father John DeVore, his mother Evelyn Miller , his stepfather , Robert Miller and the family moved to Ellinwood, Kansas. <br />He is survived by his wife of 40 years Lucretia DeVore three children, Cathy Barefoot Sierer, Kim and husband Robert Lee, Ty McNeill and partner Dave Banks, Grandchildren, Brandon Barefoot and wife Jennifer, T.J . Thornton and wife Jennette, Brooke Sierer and fiance Jessie, Chad Thorntone and wife Jenna, and Jordan Lee and fiance James Hensley. <br /><br />A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 21, 2020 at Lowell - Tims Funeral Home Chapel, Altus, Oklahoma. <br />
