Phyllis Anstey Obituary

Phyllis Martha Anstey of Cottlesville passed peacefully away in the presence of her loving family on September 11, 2020. Phyllis was born to the late Frank and Olive Rideout of Whales Gulch, now known as Valley Pond, on November 27, 1941. She married Otto Anstey on December 8, 1961 and she forever "worshipped the ground he walked on" (her words). They began a beautiful life together in Cottles Island, now known as Cottlesville. In 1964, the family expanded with the birth of their daughter, Trudy who quickly became the pride of their lives. In 1990 and 1993, respectively, grandchildren Jordan and Bethany added great joy to her family circle. She dedicated her life to her family and was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother. Her life was full of loving kindness and she was forever thoughtful of our needs. Today and tomorrow, our whole life through, we will always love and remember her.

Phyllis gave her heart to the Lord at a young age and was active in many areas of the church. She served God faithfully in Salem Pentecostal Church as organist/pianist, Sunday School teacher and in Women's Ministries. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant....enter thou into the joy of the Lord". Matthew 25:21

She is predeceased by her parents Frank & Olive Rideout, brother Alvin (Frances), sister Ruby, brother-in-law Hubert and a number of brothers and sisters-in-law.

Left with fond and loving memories are her husband Otto, daughter Trudy (Ken) Porter, grandson Jordan, granddaughter Bethany (Leon) Wiebe, sisters Audrey Jennings, Betty (Raymond) Fudge, brothers-in-law Nelson (Sunshine) Anstey and Pearce (Agnes) Anstey as well as a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
