Mary Lou Barnette Lexington, Kentucky Obituary

Mary Lou Barnette

Mary Lou (Blair) Barnette, 92, loving widow of her high school sweetheart, George E. Barnette Sr., passed from this life on September 9, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents Emmitt and Sudie (Smith) Blair, younger sister Claudette Blair and twin sister Margrette Sue Ray. She is survived by her younger sister Fay Slemp. She was the beloved mother to Barrie (Pastor) Johnson, and former mother in law to Daniel Johnson, who loved her like a mother. Amazing MeMaw (grandmother) to Eric (Sarah) Johnson and Allison (Damion) Bortz. Devoted Ooh Ooh (great-grandmother) to Brody Bortz and great-grandmother to Ethan and Benjamin Johnson. Mary Lou had many titles in her life, but to those who knew her and especially to her family she was our angel on earth. During these current health conditions in our country we will not be able to gather as family and friends to celebrate the special life of Mary Lou. We ask that you remember her in a way she would have loved, by enjoying her favorite food, chocolate ice cream. And remember the joy she brought us.
